The Company:

This sensational B2B Events Agency in Sydney that work on Conferences, Summits and Forums for a portfolio of Industries are looking for a new Head of Sales - Events and Conferences. The Agency are really passionate about the sectors they work in and create brilliant events for these industries. With a great team of staff, they are looking for someone to head up their sales team. 

Position Terms:

  • Full time permanent role
  • 4 days working from the office, 1 day working from home
  • Salary $140,000 - $150,000 plus super plus bonus depending on experience
The Role:

The Head of Sales role will head up a team of Sales Executives, Sales Managers, Business Development Managers and Senior Sales Staff. With a team of over 10 staff that this role manages, the role is responsible for driving revenue growth across the entire portfolio of events, expanding client relationships, and leading the sales strategy for the company. This role will work closely with all other teams within the business to ensure the successful execution of the events and exceed revenue targets. 

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Sales Strategy: 
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with business objectives
    • Set revenue targets for the team and oversee their achievement through effective planning and execution 
    • Identifying upselling and cross selling opportunities across event services 
    • Identify and explore new market opportunities to expand the company's client base and event portfolio 
    • Partner with internal teams to identify opportunities for launching new events or expanding existing ones
    • Drive innovation in event sales packages and offerings to meet client needs
    • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to ensure consistent deal flow
    • Implement effective CRM processes to track, analyse, and optimise sales activities
  • Team Leadership and Development: 
    • Lead, mentor and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and collective goals 
    • Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement 
    • Provide coaching and training to enhance the teams skills and performance
    • Recruit, onboard, and retain top sales talent to build a strong team 
    • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities that can assist with sales strategy 
    • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities with the team 
    • Work closely with other teams in company to align the event strategy and sales strategy to enhance brand positioning
The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have experience leading a high functioning sales team within the events sector. With experience managing a team of over 10 staff, you will have proven targeted sales achievements from past roles. You will have developed strong sales strategies in the past with proven results and have a track history of identifying new opportunities for events businesses.  
  • Senior sales experience with a history of managing high performing sales teams 
  • Client relationship management experience 
  • Team leadership skills and great mentoring ability 
  • You will be a senior sales leader in the space and looking for your next challenge
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Ability to travel interstate for face-to-face client meetings
  • Ability to communicate, present, and influence at all levels
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close as well as motivate staff reporting to you to do the same
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven sales senior executive leadership experience, meeting or exceeding targets
