The Company:This corporate organisation serves as the overarching umbrella corporation for numerous businesses within the group, which this role will develop events for. The organisation is passionate about providing its internal businesses with top-notch services and events while also educating their internal teams. They are currently seeking an Events Manager to join their Melbourne office. With extensive networks and partnerships, this company is a leader in its field. The Events Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing events for the organisation’s widespread networks and partners, as well as leading a team of Events Coordinators.
Position Terms: - Permanent full-time role
- Working 5 days a week in the office
- Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 plus super depending on experience
- Experience managing conferences and incentive events is essential for this role
The Role:
The Events Manager will be an experienced and talented events and conference professional who is passionate about the travel industry. This is a senior position within the business that will be organising major events for the company's internal networks, including managing and delivering 2 annual major conferences/incentives and smaller state-based (internal and external) events throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Lead and manage a team of Event staff, providing clear direction, support and mentorship to ensure successful event delivery.
- Oversee end to end event planning, strategy and delivery of all events for the company and franchises within the business.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, such as marketing, partnerships to ensure cohesive event delivery.
- Organisation of external speakers for events when required with guidance from the senior leadership team.
- Work with internal stakeholders to pull together programs for the events.
- Set clear event objectives, delegate tasks efficiently, and ensure all team members work collaboratively towards successful event outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Create and manage event budgets ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget for each event.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure all logistical requirements are met to optimise event outcomes.
- Producing timelines, run sheets, briefs, contracts and other event documentation.
- Full logistics and onsite operations management of events, with the onsite requirement for major events and various smaller events.
- Oversee all risk management and OH&S compliance at events.
- Negotiating hotel/venue contracts, and managing these relationships.
- Travel for site inspections and event delivery as required.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in operational conference and event management experience within the travel and incentive industries. Strong stakeholder management skills, with a track record of building and maintaining long term relationships is essential for this role.
- Strong event management skills, with a demonstrated background in conference and incentive management.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve outstanding results.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- High detail oriented and quality focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional event experiences.
- Strong budget management skills.
- Proven track record of building solid relationships with a broad set of stakeholders, including travel agents, owners, preferred partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to travel interstate and internationally for events when required.
- Ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours when liaising with stakeholders, suppliers, venues and/or internal departments located in different time zones.
- Ability to work from the office 5 days a week.
