The Company:

A B2B Exhibition and Conference organiser with offices in Melbourne but are a global team, are looking for a great new team member to join their agency in a Business Development Manager role. The company puts together sensational conferences and exhibitions and we have been recruiting for them for around 10 years. 

Position Terms:
  • Full-time permanent role
  • Working hybrid office with lots of flex 
  • Salary: $110,000 - $125,000 plus super plus commission depending on experience
The Role:

The Business Development Manager - Sponsorship and Exhibitions will be responsible for growing new business and selling both sponsorship and exhibition space across a portfolio of large scale events. The right candidate will know the industry and be able to develop, maintain and leverage existing relationships within the sector to ensure growth year on year within the events. 

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Responsibliity for new business within their allocated area, focusing on revenue attainment and annual sales goals. 
  • Be able to develop and maintain existing relationships with C-Suite executives across a number of industries. 
  • Identify and develop a targeted sales plan within prospective accounts, including target identification, prospecting, organising resources, leading meetings with prospects, closing deals and facilitating contract negotiations. 
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the sales process and revenue goal attainment and bring a track record of successfully selling and exceeding set sales targets.
  • Build, manage and maintain relationships with key customers in the market. 
  • Maintain a high volume of touch points with existing and new prospects to ensure that they are always aware of upcoming events. 
  • Ensure all accounts have a clear understanding of pricing structure, key benefits and new initiatives. 
  • Have a clear understanding of the competitor landscape. 
  • Attend National and International Events when required to establish new clients and meet face to face with other clients. 
  • Build and update contacts and maintain your CRM on a daily basis. 
The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a great track history as a Business Development Manager in the sponsorship and exhibition space. You will be a leader in your field and looking for your next long term move. With the ability to grow accounts and clients, you will have a natural knack for understanding different sectors and growing them. 
  • You will be strong on both telesales and in person sales with an understanding of the exhibition industry and experience selling in the space. 
  • You will have a great ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks. 
  • You will be a relationship driver, with strong customer service skills. 
  • Experience identifying new potential clients and ability to handle cold and warm leads.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills. 
  • Excellent relationship management skills. 
  • Ability to travel Nationally and Internationally for events.
