The Company:
An exhibition and conference B2B Agency based in Sydney are looking for a great new Business Development Executive to join their Events and Delegate team. The company puts together sensational conferences and has two distinct divisions within their team. The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving sponsorship growth by securing new clients for the Agency's well-established large-scale events.
Position Terms:
- Full-Time Permanent Role.
- Working 3 days in the office and 2 from home
- Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 plus super plus comms
The Role:
The Business Development Executive role involves proactively identifying and engaging potential sponsors through research, outreach, and cold-calling. The role also contributes to the Agency's marketing strategies and ensures effective follow-up with inbound leads, playing a vital role in achieving sales and revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Lead Generation:
- Research potential clients by monitoring sponsorship and advertising activity at competitor events and within related media.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the existing database.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to suggest target clients and assist in developing tailored messaging for email campaigns (EDMs) and LinkedIn content.
- Client Outreach:
- Identify and map decision-makers using internal databases and external sources.
- Proactively engage with decision-makers through various channels (including calls, emails, texts, LinkedIn, etc.) to generate interest in the Agency's events.
- Managing Inbound Enquiries:
- Respond promptly to incoming enquiries, assess client needs, and provide tailored proposals.
- Sales Activities and Pipeline Management:
- Create and deliver persuasive proposals to potential clients.
- Share relevant information with prospective clients to build interest.
- Negotiate and successfully close deals.
- Meet or exceed call-rate KPIs.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in B2B sales focused on new business development. Experience in sponsorship management and budget management is highly desirable. Confidence to work autonomously is essential for this role.
- Confidence and proficiency in high-volume cold calling.
- Strong understanding of lead generation strategies.
- Skilled in crafting compelling proposals.
- A proactive, results-driven, and highly organised team player.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in the events, media, or marketing sectors is desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with large-scale B2B events (e.g. conferences, summits, exhibitions, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of B2B marketing approaches.
- Experience using CRM platforms.
